    CTEK Zafir 90

Just a heads up anyone with a Costco Card or knowing a member that has one, they are stocking these charger conditioners for £35 inc VAT. Just picked one up myself as too good to miss. Comes with crocs as you'd expect but also a lead to connect to the battery terminals and then simply plug in. As i'm not driving mine much at the moment, battery drain is a real pain. hopefully this should avoid the dreaded click rather than the engine firing up.

Basically the same spec as the xs3600

    Spec is here for reference:

I have the 3600 and its brilliant. I have the additional loom hard wired onto the battery so I can just lean in behind the front seat and plug it in, it takes 30 seconds...

    Cool piece of kit IMO...

I've got the XS3600 too, and it works great. Nice when you run a 4kg 14amp battery.
I'm going to attach a cigarette lighter socket thingy to the leads, so all I'll have to do is to plug it into the cig lighter.

Espen do you have a engine heater for winter and a loom for interior heater?

If so, you can plug the charger to that and only thing you have to do is plug the defa cable and the charger will start to reload.

I have the 3600 too and although it seems quite good it takes me ages to set it. Put the clips on/plug it in and then try to select the mode using the button and it can sometimes take 20-30 presses to get it to actually switch to Car mode. Seems to be a fault but it's out of warranty now.

they're pretty good they do the complete condition/discharge/charge etc,etc process,
they're safe to leave on "forever" for those that have a garage with mains power, they continually check status of the battery and charge where required or go into maintenance mode.

As steve stated it's just plug and play when you want to charge it with fly-lead/connector permanently connected to the battery, (I think mines was still onit when i sold the car), the cig lighter fly lead is another handy item

after ruining a couple of batteries due to too often complete draining them and then loading with the ordinary charger, I bought an XS3600 last week (together with the new battery). love the extra cable, no more taking the interior apart... now all I need is a fixed 230V supply in my garage...

I just bought the cheapo £23 halfords own-brand one on saturday! Decided to take the Avant into the office as a reward for working the overtime, and it wouldn't quite start. Had only stood for 2 weeks, guess the colder weather doesn't help of the fact i left an interior light on for a couple of days...

Left it on for a day and she starts well now. Think I'll put it on if I haven't driven the car for a week to stop getting caught out over the winter.
