ABY, ecu, plugs - Help pls

Trying to locate VAG leads / plugs on my ABY

Looked under dash and cant find the 2 plugs anywhere...

Any thoughts on where they might be tucked away or how can I trace them back ?

And a muppet question ... where is the ECU normally stashed on ABY.

    3B in passenger foot well?

    Thanks all

They are in the fuse box, ecu is under the passenger side dash trim

Jamo is right on location of OBD plugs.

Your ECU is behind the glovebox - well - behind the blower housing thing... Remove the trim under glovebox and you'lll see the big cable for it.

They're the coloured plugs on the left...you only use two of them (can't remember which though).

From memory that is mixture adaptation out of whack... either running too lean or too rich beyond limits of closed loop adaptation.

                Could be either -

                Air leak
                Bad lambda
                Faulty FPR
                Weak fuel pump
                Clagged injectors, or filter
                or a faulty MAF

Use VAGCOM to grab the BASIC Settings on GROUP 0 on a warm idle - theres 10 numbers of interest - that will help me.

                  I only got a basic VAG tester . (

                  New fuel pump in
Have greens ready to go on as gonna send you my ECU shortly )
                  FPR?
MAF - how can I test it?

Thinking about it I had load of crap in my tank from when it was sitting so the injectors may have been clagged... best way to clean injectors is?

                  Thanks Paul

You need a multimeter to measure MAF output voltage - directions on S2central.net in the tech pages.

Could be crappy fuel has triggered this one - it may even be old - RESET the ECU by disconnecting it for a minute. Drive around a few days normally and see if it returns.

Only way to test FPR (fuel pressure regulator) is with fuel pressure gauge. They fail rarely, but are a very important item.
