    Total Closure

Hi Guys, My passenger window works fine with the elec. window switches. But when you use the total closure (with key or remote) the passenger window does nothing !! Any ideas

Get the alarm checked out... what alarm is it?

If it works fine on the switches there is a problem with the wiring where it interfaces with the window electrics i would guess.

That's what I thought, but it would work with the key then, wouldn't it?
Isn't there some sort of thingy that sits on the back of the lock?

Key or remote would make no difference, the part of the alarm that interfaces with the window electrics is probably not connected properly... using the key or remote is the same thing, neither is directly connected to the window, its going thru other units, thats where the problem is.

Thanks Ant, Where would I start looking? Start at the door and work backwards? I had this problem on my Cabrio and it had no alarm on it and when I had the Clifford installed the engineer couldn't find any faults . He mentioned something about a thermal relay or something like that!! Does that make any sense??

Im guessing ur total closure is part of the alarm?? Cos they dont have total closure from factory do they.

If its alarm related, then you would need to get the alarm checked properly, but its probably relay operated, would need to see where the alarm stuff is, or may have a specific interface box wired to it, to be honest, im not sure where to start looking cos of all the wires and relays already in there, unless ur good with it all, you'd need to looked at by someone who knows there stuff

My alarm has total closure. It is a seperate controller that piggy backs onto the alarm controller. It may be that this box simply has a loose wire.

On a similar point, does anyone know how to alter the sensitivity of a Meta alarm. If a flea farts within 100 yards of mine, the alarm will go off!

There is usually some kind of dial that you can adjust with a screwdriver, thats what i had on my Clifford, just turn anti clockwise to reduce sensitivity, must be something similar i guess

I'll have a look. What are these alarm like? This is what I have on my S2. I've never heard of them before so I was going to have it taken off and replaced with a Clifford/Toad.
