Anyone good at wiring in the South East?

I have a problem with the wiring on my S2. Something is shorting out and blowing the instrument panel fuse and the oil gauge is constantly on plus 5 bar pressure! I read on here that a cause of the oil gauge problem is a short somewhere. Problem is i am so bad with wiring and the previous owner left all the wiring from an old sound system that everything looks like spaghetti junction behind the centre console. I phoned a few auto electricians but they all want £55+ an hours in labour which is money i do not have at the moment. Is there anyone on here in the south east that would be willing to try and sort it out for me?

it will be a wire thats not been covered most likely, either around by the rear lights or behind the dash somewhere, just keep an eye out for wires that are bare. Should not be too hard to find, I had to find a couple recently on my car.

got it sorted yet Steve? I have to do something similar on mine, i get a wierd clicky/scrtachy sound which seems to be coming from under the dash or inside the centre console. Being electrics no idea really where to start other than eyeballing everything for the obvious stuff

no not sorted yet.i found the that the aux gauges were not connected properly so now the oil gauge is fine but still get a short somewhere which blows fuse 14 all the time! Have to get it looked over by an auto electrician i think

Try disconnecting one of the wires from the glove box bulb holder and replacing fuse 14.
