Basic electrical issue for all you experts!! :D

Rear offside indicator was dim so pried connector from cluster as was rusted on, sanded down rust and reconnected.
Replaced bulb, still dim.
I heard it could be grounding if so where would that be?
If not what else could it be???

(Also may be a contributing issue, 80% of time when i indicate right and then apply brake the indicator stops ticking and apparently my offside brake light flashes instead)

earthing issue, i'd check the wiring on the side its on and clean up any rusted wiring etc.

You think that will also sort the signalling right and braking issue.

I would bin it and buy another bulb holder of a car getting broken

change the earth connection over (spade connector)...give the plug a real good clean as well as this is really common due to water passing by the back of the light ..check the lense compartments and make sure it is not swimming with water in them or you will be back to square one very quickly

Good ol disco lights then... agreed with above if the rear bulb cluster wiring looks nasty - water ingress there is not unusual... Search the forum for rear light cluster leaks and proven ways to repair them properly - requires a special mastic tape.
