    Simulating the narrowband=Economy

I've just installed my wideband lambda and gauge on my S2, i've gone for tech edge WB02 bought from trigger wheels because they are really easy to use/program and i've also heard bad things about innovate. But to the point.

I want to generate a narrowband curve to save me a bit of fuel when cruising on the motorway when im in a lean bit of the map ie, off boost.

I've got 2 end points that i think will stay the same but its the mid points thats the problem

I dont want to go mad just save a few mpg, and not melt anything.

    Anyone done this before?

I've read up on how the ZT2 does this - I've yet to install it on mine, but was reckoning on setting it up for 15.0 at first then lean it off gradually until it seems too lean (plugs bad colour or any knock detection). Letting it run for a week or so on new settings to let things settle.

A bit of trial and error then.

What i dont want to do is make the car run leaner on full throttle, so my two mid points will have to be chosen very carefully.

Does motronic run closed loop on full throttle?

Nope - thats the nice thing - Motronic runs open loop at WOT so you get the right mixture directly off map... Then in closed loop the ECU shoul happily adapt around a slightly leaner mixture. Might need slightly 'hotter' plugs - what think ye ?

I have the back knock sensor connected to my headphones via an amplifier so i can listen for det to be safe.

ive used them before. i looked like a guy with industrial ear muffs on.

i dont use nbo2 feedback. instead i target around 1.05 lambda on the vems. seems fine. any leaner and it starts to lose a fraction of smoothness. as if it fluctuates a little. id say up to 2500 1.1 is ok then after 1.05. temps start to rise around 80mph mark so a closer to 14.7 seems better up there. maybe a little tweak with tps enrichment may be the answer.
