Can anyone help me out, I am looking for a common trigger point for the 4 door switches that trigger interior lights for my alarm. Eg open any door and send - signal to alarm
The car is 7/94 it has factory alarm which only works with the key in the door. lock the door with the key the engine can not be started open a door without unlocking it with the key alarm go's off.
I do not know how the immobilizer works as the key has not transponder it has been removed
Paul what i would like to do is disable factory alarm & immobilizer
I have a new alarm & immobilizer with gms gps tracking the only things i need to find out is how to trigger central locking, What's involved in getting the window to wind up & where I can pick up on the 4 door switch to tell the alarm when a door has been opened or not closed.
I have sent you the schematics and info on a couple of easy ways to integrate a new alarm/immo with the old. I advise to NOT disable the factory alarm. This will give multiple levels of coverage and lets you keep door and cabin light control as well - very easily thru any decent alarm's door interface.
Forgot to add - I have not found a way to do 'comfort closure' on the sunroof and windows when alarm is set... That would be quite neat actually - I will add it to the list..... Tis a long list though Wayne so ask around - maybe worth looking at pump controllers and window relays from a B5 machine (Audi A4 with comfort package) as they will have the necessary smarts to do this.
This is all linked to the same trick on many recent VW/Audis where you can hold the key (or keyfob button) open or closed to make windows go all the way automatically. Not rocket science.
