    Strange fog light problem....Help needed

Need to pick someones brains who knows about auto electrics...

The other day my HID lights packed up. Main works fine (obviously) but the HID wont power up at all.
Was getting dark so I put on the front fogs to see where I was going and the back fog light display illuminated and rear came on at the same time....

Are these two problems connected () or did one cause the other?

Any help would be greatly appreciated if anyone has come across similar problems.

    Cheers

That sounds normal to me. IIRC you can't have the fronts on on their own, but you can just have the rear one on...

    Someone else will confirm...

    Steve.

      HI Steve....

Funny, as I have never noticed the rear coming on at the same time as the fronts.

      Can someone confirm...

      Cheers

Yes that's right, the front fog switch is wired to rear switch via a yellow and white wire.

Standard on mine too - working on the assumption that you must need the rear one if it's bad enough to use the front ones, I think.

              Hi Martin....
Thanks for all the replies guys...

I am pretty certain that the rear switch never used to illuminate before.
Any ideas why my HID lights are not working as well...Do the HID's and fogs share the same earth?

On mine you can have your front fogs on only and when you push the rear fog switch the front illuminant automatically.

Could the fact that the rear now comes on with the fronts switched on be an earth problem...? And is this causing the HID lights to fail.
Sorry, but I know NOTHING about electrics.
