Search for the forums for vag-com, its all you need!

Also check http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/index.html where you can download the software

Pick up a cheap laptop off ebay.
I am thinking about selling my spare one soon which is plenty good enough to run it

          I bought this from Ebay.

          http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=300325821000

Cheap and cheerful but does he trick. It's worked fine on my S2, '99 S4 and '01 A6 TDi.

You'll also need to connector cable.

The best way is to buy VAG-COM USB cable and use it with VAG-COM 3.11 software on an laptop, if you dont want to buy licence etc.. costs even cheaper than the fault tool above and has more feautures than a single fault code reader.
