Hi, i have a problem with the lighting/cruise control stalk. Everything works fineas far as indicators, CC, lowbeam lights but when i flick it forward to get mainbeam nothing happens. If i push (read force) it forwards i get the main beams going sometimes. What is my problem?? New stalk required?? Or can i clean any conectors?? Any help appreciated as it´s getting towards autumn here and that meens DARK nights.
get another one. I opened mine up and now the Cruise does not work anymore.
Don't go through what I did...way too many little things in there when you open it up may get lost.
Skull *the cruise control has nothing to do with the internals of the stalk.*
It does on US cars. Mine caused incredible problems. Some guys who wired their Xenon up grade through the OEM stalk saw it go up in smoke & melted plastic & a blown CC.

sure, they fitted the xenon kit without the relay, directly powered trough the stalk.
again the bc and CC have nothing connected to the internals of the stalk (indicators, hi/low beam, wipers).
take a look at the pic, the CC wires run trough the stick and to a separate connector

Cruise is totally separate, uses its own loom and connector block. There is no connection between them, not even a shared earth.
I know this as i got a stalk with CC from a us CQ (top of pic) and had to dismantle it to swap the stalk over to the unit from my avant (bottom of pic).
As above its easy to get the units apart but a bit of a fiddle to reassemble. The top section of the switch has two spring loaded metal contacts that slide along the circuit board, these have to prised back to get the unit back together. I'm kicking myself for not taking pics when it was apart
