    aby aircon loom question

Is the aircon loom on the aby a seperate loom or is it part of the engine or rad/fans loom?
    Cheers

It won't be part of the engine loom as i've seen a few and none have had the aircon bits. Its just a normal loom for a aby engine.

the aircon loom will be on the car that its on, are you planning on fitting or removing one?

ive got aircon one the cab and want to keep it, however ive sourced an aby loom for the engine and fans etc. Just wondered if it was part of it or was a seperate loom as the loom im getting is from a car without aircon

Be aware that there are two connections between the A/C system and the ABY ECU, i.e. Pins 6 and 41 as shown here:

That might be tough. Here is a link to an AAN ECU pin out in case that helps (note: no real connections to the air con system as far as I can see). YMMV

gavs - look at my wiring pages on S2central.net - there is no dark science here.

The aircon loom connects to the engine loom. The afterrun wiring is related to this as well. Have a look thru the ABY PDF I have online then come back with any questions. Essentially, if you graft in the ABY loom and attach to aircon loom with normal OE connector arrangement you are there !

AAN loom is functionally identical to the ABY - of course some connectors will be different - and the whole fusebox area is different. If someone wants to send me an AAN loom for research purposes I will gladly give it the same treatment as that PDF I created for the ABY.

                    See page 46 of http://www.s2central.net/S2_Schematics/ABY_Wiring.pdf

The aircon loom connects at T5h just on two pins as far as the ECU is concerned.

Pin 6 is the only one of any real interest for aircon. This is 2-way status/control signal... HVAC controller informs ECU whether aircon is ON or OFF... Presumably for assistance in selecting the right map(s) for idle control. And the ECU can request aircon is turned off - when applying full beans so that load on the engine is minimised.

Pin 41 is a signal from ECU when engine is running to prevent inadvertent operation of afterrun fan.
