I was surprised to discover recently that the digital (time) clock in the speedo has started to play up. Wondered if anyone else has experienced this and if it's easy to fix?
The problem is that the clock has stopped keeping accurate time. I set it and a day or so later the time is wildly out. Is the time clock easily replaceable?
Maybe the quartz crystal is duff. I haven't changed a clock before but I don't think it will be too difficult providing you have a decent set of jewellers screwdrivers and you don't have hands like bananas.
Another thing to check for would be dry solder joints on this circuit. Something to consider anyway.
That sounds like a total power cut, when it resets to 0.00 ....akin to battery removal. If the time is just going out of synch it does sound like the crystal which is failed.

Mine's the same. I searched the forum and found that apparently dust builds up and affects the contacts. A good clean should fix it. I've yet to try though.
