    Reverse Lights not working

Noticed yesterday that the reverse lights arent working on my coupe.

Ive checkd fuse 12 and that looks fine, as do the bulbs so i think it is probably the switch or a break in the cable.

What colour is the feed for the reverse lights?

where is the switch located to activate the lights?

Does the cabling for the lights run down the drivers side and under the dash by the steering column?

    thanks in advance.

It will be the reverse switch, it's located in the gearbox down behind the downpipe

To test the wiring you need to short the wiring together on the plug ( i.e disconnect plug from switch and short together ) but 99% it will be the switch that will need changing as the tip rubs flat over time.

Had this on my Avant and with a large bore exhaust it is a pain to change.

I'll see if I can give it a test this weekend then. Does anyone have a pic from the family album showing its exact location?

I also posted on that thread after mine went south earlier this year.

It is not too hard to do once you find it...

                Do a search.

                Cheers,

It is easy to test with a shot piece of wire jumped across the terminals of the connector, once it is off the switch....

On my urq it proved to be where someone hadn't put the wire back into its clips and it had frayed through.

I had a look at it last night and it is the switch that has gone kaput, so I will get hold of one of those and fit it in a couple of weeks when the MOT is done. Also I have been trying to find the power lead for the aerial amp but to no avail. Checking the aerial base it has the coax and a black power lead but I cant locate it behind the dash. Is it routed across the roof lining and down the front door pillar or is it routed on the door pillars?

I ordered a new reverse light switch this morning, not the cheapest switch though.

its £34.96+VAT!! ECP wanted £38 too, managed to get the last one in the country ordered in though.

With the debarkle I had yesterday with the running a mate picked the switch up for me, And even though I told them the P/N i wanted they insisted it was incorrect and used a different one. Anyway the supplied switch is totally wrong so I have goto source another one now!
