Help to identify this part of the loom

I removed the entire center section with the heather controls, cd player, switches and blowers today.
Some of the loom from the cd player had melted down due to some bad wiring.
When i had it all out i noticed that there was two plugs (6pin) right at the bottom behind the aux gauges that were unplugged.

    See here:

Can any one tell my what they are for and why they may have been unplugged. They have been like that for at least 5 years.

    Thanks
    Bo

i'm sure there is a redundant plug down there as part of the aux gauge loom... but not two

Does anything cool happen when you plug them in Bo?

That plug looks to me like one that connects between part of the rear loom with the front loom, it's been connected at some point anyway by the looks of the pins.

                  Cheers guys,

The aux gauges have defiantly been working, but on a different note the diff lock has never worked. Maybe that's what they are for. I did notice that the brown cable casing was slightly melted so looks like something over loaded at some point?

Ill just plug it back in and will keep the fire extinguisher handy.
