    Inconsistent Autocheck warning

For the last few days I have been getting the red auto-check warning repeatedly. I have had the warning occasionally when the car has been left for a day or two so have assumed it's bomb related. But now its behaving oddly.

I have just been out to drop a friend back to their place and the warning flashed constantly the whole way. On the return journey it had cleared completely. Perhaps it was because it had heated up but seems unlikely in 2 mile each way.

It has only started doing this in the recent grim wet weather... perhaps there is a rain sensor in the passenger footwell

Any thoughts as to what this could be?

    Thanks!

No, but I have the same problem. It happens if I've washed the car - which I don't do very often

It's not bomb related because Autocheck gives the bomb 20 seconds or so after start-up to reach pressure.

In my case the alarm first comes up as soon as you switch on the ignition - even if you don't start the car - which to me points to Autocheck itself since there's almost nothing to complain about until at least you've started the car!

It's not brake fluid level as I've already disconnected that plug.

Could be water in the hydraulic fluid level switch, not sure if that is active open or closed??

In my case it goes once it's had a chance to dry out.

And again this morning. First 5 mins the car was ok followed by 15 mins of lights and sirens. Then silence for the last 15.

Because of the length of time it's on I can't imagine it's a dodgy connection etc. Is water ingestion into the ecus/harness a known issue at all as it's the only way I think the bad weather can be playing a part (though it didn't last year).
