Any wiring experts in the house?

Gents,

My S2 Avant has suddenly developed a rather annoying problem in that when I turn the ignition on, the off side parking light comes on for no apparent reason, and when I drive down the road the Autocheck system keeps on bleeping me to say that a bulb has blown, even though they are all ok

Any ideas?

I've been looking through other threads on this as I have the bulb failure autocheck warning at the moment. Other threads i've read say it suggests a bad earthing point somewhere in the car. For me, this makes sense as I've just started to install and intercooler spray kit and I know I haven't earthed the pump properly.

No idea on the parking light though! Have you changed anything recently?

Wiring problem....

I'd say your problem is in the hatch/trunk area. Numerous Audis be they Coupes, Sedans & Avants all have this problem. Audi had a problem with their wiring in those days when it came to that part of the car.

I must admit that I've thought about this as I know there have been issues in the past with looms in that area. Tne strange thing is, the problem goes away as soon as I turn the lights on
