Hi Lee,
Few if any of the aftermarket diagnostics will be able to read the pneumatic suspension on the allroad!
I have an 03 with nearly 150k miles on and have replaced 3 of the four airbags.
When one gives up the goast it throws up all sorts of faults, compressor, sensors, etc.
If the car is dropping on one corner the opposite side will atempt to match it and you think the problem is on both sides.
This may be of no help, but PM me if this sounds familiar.Comment

Agreed - if its not keeping the ride level (e.g drops over night - or even worse when the air compressor is pumping heavily whilst driving) then you almost certainly have a leaking airspring. BTDT on 2 x front on our 2001 allroad - not too horrendous a job, but you need VAGCOM to setup afterwards for height control.
I also had to replace the compressor on ours after the front airsprings - stupidly expensive part that is and no repair kits / internal parts that I know of.Paul Nugent
