Going on what johne said above, he said you want 0.01 or below.
As Im getting 0.02 Im happy with that, especially as it dropped 0.10 when unplugging the stereo!
Have you tried what I did?

    Mine is a CDA-9833R with mp3 changer

the amps could be less if you remove the front panel and/or the CD box from the changer (this is the case with my Pioneer set)

Those readings were with the panel removed.
My next job is to wire the stero with a switched live rather than permenant, hopefully that will sort it!

Apparently any black/blue wire is switched. A quick hunt showed you can also use the thin red wire off the ign barrel which means the stereo works while the key is in without turning it. Remove the key and it goes off.
Fatty posted years ago that he spliced into a connector on the back of the heater panel.
Shouldnt be too hard to find one using an electrical screwdriver with bulb in

Be careful with that small red wire. It's not rated for a very high current draw and Alpines HU have been known to have pretty high current needs.

I use that wire in mine to drive a relay. That way I can have a decent current switched supply to drive phone charger, stereo, ipod kit and on board camera.

mostly, the switched wire is just used for switching the unit on & off. Continues supply is used for running the unit and need to be thick enough.

I pulled the switched signal from the ilumination of the switches above the radio. Easy to find, easy to route & wire...

S2avants suggestion with a relay always works!

To follow on from this; I have had the headunit removed for just over 3 weeks, and have not had a single issue with the battery since.
I have just rewired the headunit to only work with the ignition on.
So after checking it all worked, I unplugged it again and put the meter on the battery earth, it showed 0.02amps, then putting the headunit back in (with ignition off) it is now showing 0.03amps. Obviously it will have some drain for its memory, Im happy that it will be ok, as it was 0.12 with it wired directly!
                  Time will tell....
