I little light would be great.

Ok well Im putting the coupe back together after doing the swap and I used a rs2 harnness to complete the swap with the help of Paul and Josh and Dave which they all helped me out.
The dash is in but I'm having little problem with something
the lights for the aux guages and any other backlighting for the car doesn't work
I've checked the fuses and everything is ok
I'm getting power at the stalks and I hear the relay clicking but I'm shill in the dark
    am I missing something?
Also the other day I started it and the lights came on bu shortly after they dimmed out.
Also my voltage guage is not working. Everything worked fine before and now it don't work.
Any help or input would be great.

Are all your connections tight on the fuse board? I had the same problem turned out to be a loose connection

@s4kido.... there must be something silly like a loose / missed wire or earth strap maybe. All you can do is carefully check all the connections and earth points. There are earth points at both A-pillars and on or near the centre tunnel as well.

I promised to look out US schematics for you... haven't forgotten - just been too busy of late

I'm gonna rip out the dash tomorrow night. I want to finish the exhaust and then move the battery to the boot

ok the dash it out.. i check all ground and everything seams to be OK..
It seams like everytime i would turn on the lights i kept on poping the #14 fuse ( Engine, glove compartment and something else). Now if i was to turn on the lights and have the dimmer on the cluster all the way turned off nothing would blow until i touched the dimmer switch on the cluster.. Then i started going thru the relays on the aux panel.. i was pulling stuff out of the coupe with the URS4 relays.. Still nothing. Then while speaking to Josh i asked him about the Instrumental Light Booster relay and i noticed that one of the terminals was black.. So i changed it and still nothing.
Also i was able to narrow something down but i think i cause a bigger mess.. Last night when i was at the garage i was looking at the harness and all. while speaking to josh i disconnected everything except the engine plug from the Aux panel.. One by one i started connecting. The lights were working fine and the dimmer was all the way up.. the light were ok until i pluged the yellow connector and that when S**T hit the fan.. something popped it sounded like a fuse but i checked all the fuses and they are OK.. I think my cluster is BAD.. I have to check it.. Now the glove box light is ok but still nothing to the remainder of the lights...
Also my cig lighter dont work and my diff lock also..
              ANYONE I NEED HELP......

                  Just a thought.......
Have you checked your registration plate lights? On some older Audis the instrument lighting would not function if both plate light bulbs were blown. Not sure if the coupes were wired this way, but worth a shot.

oh new thing now.. last night i took and tried to figure things out... i noticed that the power for the cluster and the heater controls goes thru the abs relay in the aux panel.. If i pull out the fuse for the relay then i dont get any power...
