The lever exists, but it's not used to convert from LHD to RHD or visa versa.
It's used to allow you use to use the car in another country where the traffic uses the opposite side of the road.
In the UK, our beam pattern kicks up to the left, like so... \____ so as to illuminate the the curb/pavement/verge etc.
You being in the states have the kick to the right, like so... ____/
The lever just flattens the beam pattern and gets rid of the "kick up" so to speak, so you are not blinding oncoming road users when you are in another country.
Ellipsoids don't use a reflector (or the glass, LHD and RHD glass is the same) to create the beam pattern.
They use a plate in front of the bulb but behind the ellipsoidal lens (the bit that looks like the fish eye) to create the pattern.
You'd realistically need to flip over the plate.
How you'd do that? I don't know. Sorry.
