maybe this coils are better, but I don't like plug wire any more... risk of misfire is lower with 5 single coil .

I wanna use coils like on the picture - from newest audi model...

As the developer of the 1.8t coil pack conversion DIY back in 2005, I can tell you that the individual coil packs are NOT as good as the 5 OE coils of the AAN, ABY and ADU. Notice that I did NOT say anything about the Power Output Stages (POSs) amplifiers that go with the OE AAN, ABY and ADU coils. They are the weak(er) point of that system.

The LS2 coils from EFI Express ARE five individual coils, wired up essentially the same as the 1.8t, 2.0t or the red 4.2 V8 coils you seem to like. The difference is the coil wires, as shown here in a photo from EFI's website.

You might want to read this overall summary of AAN/ABY/ADU ignition options:

          The Audi Enthusiast website. Forums for all Audis including A4, S4, A5, S5, A6, S6, allroad, A8, S8, TT, R8, Q5, Q7, 4000, 100, 200, v6, v8, vintage, local forums

If you don't think a 3B cam cover with wires and 5 coils (in this case 034's HO coils) can't be beautiful, then you haven't seen this:

            thanks UrS4boy for every advices...
I know that you want BEST to me but.
well we have a different problem.
why we have to use 1.8t coils?
because we don't have place for this LS2 coil under the hood. this is audi 200 20v.
you can't belief but s2 or s4 have much more place for things like this around engine bay..

there is onley 3cm betwen intake manifold and car's boby.
on the right side is water coller, fan bla, bla bla... you know....

it's not for me... I'm doing this for friend.. and I promised that I will...

when I have 3b ignition sistem in my car , it was allways problem with plug wire, misfire everywhere , and now have AAN coil and very happy with this sistem...
            friend wish this sistem to..
I saw this pitcure with 1.8t coil on 3b valve cover , and said to friend you don't need to change valve cover, intake manifold... just buy this coils and we will do 3b to aan conversation on the easiest way than I have done.

now I find one 1.8t ignition coil to do the test before buying 5 coil... and they are to wide for a whole in 3b valve cover...

I saw this coil on S-car's with 420,650,700 and more horsepower... AND they work OK... we nead it for 290 hp (maybe).
If we buy this coil , have 2 years of warenty, after 2 years -we will repalce it with new.

I hope that will work fine...

            do you understand me?
            am I right?

The 1.8t (and 2.0t and 4.2L V8) pencil-style "115" coil packs do not like heat, either from external sources or internal sources, e.g. lots of ignition dwell kills them quick(er). Running them at only 290 hp (like an MTM Stage 1+ (with 3 Bar MAP sensor) should be fine (i.e. coils will fail but they should last quite a long time before they fail).

The "115" coil designs vary but some of them come with a big silicon rubber sealing ring that can either be trimmed or removed. There is also some hard plastic that may have to be trimmed so they can fit into a 3B cam cover. They need to be trimmed enough so the coil pack fits firmly over and snaps onto the spark plug. Then you should be fine.

As for warranty, I doubt very much that you could get a warranty on them since you will be using them on a non-original equipment application, 3B, engine. I don't know about pricing in Croatia but in North America these 115 coils are about US$30 so it isn't too much money anyway.

              Good luck.

I can get "115" coil in Slovenia (60km away from me) for 20 euro each.
it is 100 euro and I can make wires at home for almost free, maybe few euro
                they are made by BREMI.
the warranty will be good because my friend have this store with autoparts.
the same "115coil" in AUDI shop cost 70$ each - welcome to croatia .

how much the set of "115 coil" cost an 034?
                255$ + 263$ postage, and it is 518$..

but I can make it for a 150-160$...

and if I want to order LS2 coil pack it will cost almost 900$-NO WAY.

my fellow (VU-002-RS) use this "115" and NO problem on his RS2 with 600+hp.

if he can run on it, than I can make it work fine on 290hp.

I never said that the 1.8t coils don't work. They do (up to point of failure)

Re-read the part about trimming them to make them fit the 3B cam cover.
