"!" warning light flashes few times from cold?

More or less every morning for the last week or so i get the "!" warning symbol flash/beep on Autocheck about 5 times, but its only from cold when i pull off the drive in the morning.

Fluid levels all ok and it doesn't happen at any other times when i start/drive throughout the day/evening, literally only when its been started from being sat overnight. WTF???

Sounds like a weak bomb to me, some of mine do that after sitting 2-3 days. Does the brake pedal feel funny or pulse when you start it?

Must admit, pedal does feel a bit spongey when pumped.

Search for the "bomb test" and if it passes don't worry. Mine and others have been doing this for years and years!!

I fixed this problem with mine by unplugging the pressure sensor in the servo

Thanks all, having checked the Bomb threads it sounds like a few of you have had (and still have) this same problem.

i have the same as you...just the same, always with the engine cold.

i tried to unplugg the sensor of the sensor in the servo tank and nothing changed

and i am suspecting about the servo pump....because i can listen it a lot with the car stoped but on and turning the steering wheel,so ...may is is some damaged,i dont lose any liquid never in my car anyway. we have to rebuild our servo pumps

If the bomb checks out ok, and your hydraulic pump is healthy then it could be worth changing the hydraulic fluid if it's been in there for a while.

I wouldn't recommend this even though it does get rid of the alarm. We're all getting the warning because our bombs & pumps are getting a little lazy with old age and the pressure hasn't reached the required value by the time Autocheck times out & checks it, so it's no big deal to get the warning on start up as long as it stops because the pressure has eventually got there.

It is a big deal to get the warning during normal driving as it indicates you're going to get less - or no - brake pedal assistance the next time you brake and if you've unplugged the sensor you'll never get any warning even when you're down to zero assistance.

                          Good call John.

Whenever I have seen (!) while driving it has been because of a low fluid level (brake or hydraulic) will trigger it. It also goes off sometimes when check the hydraulic fluid level and disturb the connector on the reservoir cap....

                          Cheers,

                          Steve
