    rear de-mister fuse keeps blowing?

Rear window demister stopped working the other day (small light on dash button not showing) so checked fuses and sure enough, the 30amp had blown. Popped another one in this morning and that one popped to.

I noticed on the fuse box it works the heated wing mirrors to, now these stopped working ages ago after some **** on a bike had banged into one. Now its not 100% secure and theres been a bit of wobble for some time but I've never got round to whipping the door panel off and having a look at securing it.

Do you think its related to the rear de-mister keep tripping out? the little spider that lives in there cant help either..lol

Yeah sounds like a short, the mirrors are connected to the de-mister, reminds me I need to fix my RS2 ones!

Does sound like the mirror wiring needs investigating - a short there would explain the fuse being blown repeatedly.

Tis the same frosty mornings when you realise you have the dreaded water leak as you have ice INSIDE the windscreen... I'd swap your electrical gremlin anyday for the stress involved fixing that after more than a year. Should be an easy fix, but shout if you need help identifying wire colours and such in that area.

I had the same problem a while back, for me it was a broken cable in the boot lid was earthing and blowing fuses.

              Darren,

I'd be inclined to check the electrical cables for the rear hatch where they flex at the hinge point, before the mirrors.

Post the cure when you do find it. Good luck with same.
