    Abs sensor

Any tips on removing Abs sensors? My guess is they pull out?

Sorry if this is a repeat...on my phone and hard to search!

They will pull out if you are lucky dude. Otherwise you need to remove the driveshaft from back of the hub and tap them out.

Worse case scenario like mine were you have to drill them out and then shot blast the hubs to get the remains out

      are they expensive to replace??

ive tried wiggling them...the black plastic part moves but the metal sleeve part doesnt. does the metal sleeve part pull out at the same time?

New, they are very expensive, look out for used ones on Ebay.

I think the metal shim may get left behind from what I can remember then you have to prise that out too. They can be a pain in the **** if they have been in there for 15 years.

They are over £100 new, so search for secondhand ones from a reliable source...

Good rear ones can be hard to get hold of, if need be you can also splice the sensor head off a more readily available front sensor onto the longer wiring of the rear ones

Try a rag on the jaws of a vice grips and rotate it rather than try to pull straight up. Once you get it twisting and lifted a little some wd40 will be magic.

nope, the out part of the sensor. all i got out was the plastic inner. the cover for it along with the copper sleeve was left inside!
