i bought the wiring loom for the dual airbag from etka part number:8a0971581a

i have the airbag ecu with part number 8a0959655c

      my problems are:

wiring loom has a connector which i have never seen before and no plug that can go to the airbag ECU. I thought it would connect the 2 airbags, the ecu and the seat belts all together with connection to the motronic for the fault codes.

Also i see that the wiring loom although has the 2 plugs that would go to the seat belts, and drivers airbag, the 2 seatbelt plugs are so closely joined together which makes it impossible to reach both sides of the seatbelt plugs unless i take off their sticky cover!

the fault code i get is the passenger side igniter intermittent. Where is that igniter located? is it in the seatbelt itself, or some other module? It cannot be on the ECU as i have replaced the ECU with another unit and i still get the code. I have also replaced the seatbelt as well with no success.

The seat belt ignitor is in the silver tube attached to the seat belt reel inside the B post.

The air bag ignitor is in the air bag unit.

I see. Then it should still be a cable problem esp. After replacing the seatbelt twice....

Unfortunately though the wiring look I got looks to be forth older airbag ecu.

On RS2 AirBag module I found a fault:
01025 - Trigger for On Board Diagnostic Lamp; Malfunction
31-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent

.... and there was no bulb. I put new one into dashboard but AirBag light does not coming on then ignition is on ... I didn't connect computer after putting the bulb into the place to check if the fault still exists ...
But normally on B4 AirBag light must come on for few seconds when ignition is on ? or not ?

just a small update on this:

after receiving a used wiring loom on the airbag unit my rs2 uses, i traced the passenger side cable which turns out to be under the driver's shelf. I replaced the cable(actually added it on and left the old one in place) and the fault is now gone!

                problem cured!
