I allredy know what you are talking about. and I start to learning something about that..
would not go to try something if I'm not 100% shore . first I wont to learn some things from somebody who do this. few time be with him when he will do remap.. than I could try to do something.. because we all know that horsepower is knowledge ..

Thanks Dmitri.. you are a good friend..

i would say the forum has a lot of info already. Other standalones, i dont know regarding being open to teach tuning methods as well as how the specific sensors work. VEMS from my experience offers a lot of info in and out of the forum, as well as their own dedicated forum and website which if you have the time, you can learn quite a lot of stuff.

eventually you will have a good running engine and if you spend some time on the dyno, then you should get some nice figures as well.

I will stay on motronic for now.. 450hp with stock MAF is easy possible .. but I will have parts for more than 500 hp... than I will save the money for ViPec and put it in car.
for ViPec have good suport and man who done this before seweral times on I5..

or maybe Dmitri do some crazy MAF which will be good for 1000 HP.. (from Opel 1.2)
As i said ViPec is pirfect.

yesterdy I start to think about VEMS.. but I also read on forum that lot of people have problem with them, and don't know did they solve the problems ..so I'm not smart.

definetly I will first run on motronic, than we will see what other ECU will come. in my Country I can find good tuners for Vipec and VEMS.. the good support are matter.

            what problems are those?

You will have problems with ANY ECU!!! if you believe that, then thats a good start to make your choice!

Exactly. There will be always problems with each ECU - solving them is called tuning
For example - I can say that I can get your car running on Motronic.
A tuner very experienced with VEMS can get your car running on VEMS etc.

Solving the issues is part of the knowledge of the ECU.

you now what I mean.. few people have problem with rising idle.. and other issues . but just like you said.. this is a part of tuning.
VEMS have a good price and PnP 55pin to audi.. this is very interesting to me.. few mods on loom and they are ready .
very simple.. other good thing with VEMS is that, they are from Hungay (Budapest) 160km away from me... one day trip to see lovely Budapest, buy Vems , and come home..
and have a good tuners in Zagreb for Vems. I think that will be good.

idle issues have been addressed and are solved. Out of all aftermarket ECUs on different cars and different makes, i have to say that idling with vems is one of the best.
it just takes time to do, that is all.

VEMS PnP will be ~950 EUR. Plus tuning.
If you are planning to assemble the car and then run the same setup for a while - then Motronic will be cheaper.

If you are planning to go further, maybe make a purely drag car, then VEMS is a better idea.

I really don't know what will be in future. when I finish that what is in my mind.. cca 450-500hp on CT355. it will stay on that 2-3years this is 100%. of course if everithing will be fine, and running good. it will stay on that.
I have one more audi 200 20v (white one) , this car will 100% go to some more extreme car, but not for daily use. so now is the question which engine will go in that car.. maybe I will take engine from blue one and put it in white one, than VEMS will be better. but this is my plans for future.. maybe 2015. will white one ready for tuning. because they must have: roll bar, only 2 seats, real one racing car , but engine will be last thing on that car.. we will see.

rs200, nice avatar...I drew that glad to see its gone to some good use besides as a sticker on my laptop.

Anyway, I've also got a 200 20v running a 56mm Holset and VEMS. There were some bugs that needed to be worked out at first, but after those were worked out, its been super reliable and its great to tune on. I've got 1100cc injectors in it and it idles and drives like stock until I get into boost

Don't worry about car running on VEMS.
You will be able to make it run very well, even for daily usage. Just it will require a lot more effort and time from your side than on motronic, where you get those things for free.

As I, and others have said before - your ECU is a tool. It is adapted to the engine. How good you are at adaptation usually depends on your skill, because ECU's that are 15 years newer than Motronic 2.3.2 usually provide at least similar possibilities, and usually exceed them.

Even if the ECU is often called the "brain" of the car - it is just another piece of metal. The brain is the tuner, who calibrates the control unit.

ha, I know...I haven't been posting much. I do whenever there is something I can give my input on.

Of course you can use it! I don't mind...anything for a fellow T44 lover

My VEMS is for 3b. I do recall talking a while back, but I don't remember the details. AMDistheBest is also running VEMS on his 3b now.

now I realy don't know what to do.. stock ECU or VEMS..
I know exactly what you want to say Dmitri.. if I find SQ MAF (for a good price) than I will stay on MOTRONIC , if NOT than will take VEMS..
