My factory alarm doesn't 'honk' to let you know it's been activated when you lock the doors although the fog lamp switch lights up & the alarm does actually work when activated. Any ideas ?
Also the immobiliser warning lamp doesn't come on when you first key on. I'll start by checking the bulb. Any other suggestions ?
My car sometimes has a delay in the honk that says its activated... sometimes its not that instant and other times it is, have u waited with the car to see if its activated in case your away from the car the time its honked?

Yes when I tested the alarm last night I waited a couple of minutes after locking the doors & then opened the bonnet without unlocking the car & it set the alarm off. So the alarm is definitely working, it just isn't 'honking' to let you know it's been activated.
Not much help I'm afraid. Mine did this last year for a few days and then it started working as normal and has been fine since!
I'm no expert on this, but historically when I've encounterd the symptoms
described (no honk when alarm activated), it's always been the rear tailgate, either not shut properly or not catching etc...
Mine has aftermarket and factory immobiliser(working) with no honk! Previous S2 had Vag upgrade alarm which fully integrated with immobiliser with honk and flashes.
So does yours have non integrated after market ? If so then I think the honk may be deactivated and if the immobiliser works does it matter?
And I talked to the aftermarket fitter who suggested that a lot of aftermarket alarms false with the original immobiliser. As it self checks by dropping the current at car entry points to check the circuit which can set aftermarket sensors off.
He advised me to use one or the other. I have had no problems using both on occasion
Mine doesn't have an aftermarket alarm but does have an aftermarket immo which doesn't work. I don't know if this was integrated & can't tell if the factory immo is working as the warning light doesn't come on. I guess I could check if it is working by getting another key cut & trying it without getting the key synchronised by Audi...
That is based off which Wiring harness you have, I bought an ABY non immobilizer version.
Also if you are planning on running for example a stock RS2 ecu, you would need the key that came with the car as well so your immobilizer system would work properly.

Is there somehow a way to match a new key set and a new ecu from the parts bin? Is this just not possible?
I have a 95 RS2 wiring harness so it does have the immobilizer
