Airbag light

Just coming home from work last night, 10 minute journey, when on a staight piece of road, with not so much as a bump, the airbag light came on
Have started ignition and turned off several times but the feckin thing stays on all the time now I am going to a mates garage next week to clear the fault codes and investigate, anyone here had this or know wtf to look for? No passenger airbags or seatbelt tensioners afaik so must be the time bomb in front of my face Its an 95 ABY coupe and any help would be appreiciated

Check the fault codes first.

I had the same problem and it was the spiral spring:
