Thanks Chaps, I will have a look at this at the weekend. Worst case scenario is I take off the factory loom tape find nothing and have to wrap it back up in insulation tape again and look elsewhere!

    Cheers,

Well, my problem was I couldn't get enough loom length out the body or tailgate to slide the rubber boot past the problem area...
I didn't see the faulty wires until I cut them all, and pulled the rubber boot off. BUt in my case I was confident the problem was there because one of the wires was already totally severed.
Worst case is you have to cut wires to find IF the problem is there or not
Hopefully you'll manage without resorting to that...

Haven't had a chance to look. Will need to before MOT time at the end of this month I think!

              Hey Steve.
Saw this and thought of you http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showpos...&postcount=660
Fourth picture down is the perfect example of broken wires from the tailgate tube.
And it looks from Pic 5 that the black tape is in pretty good condition...

Thanks, I STILL haven't done this. I AM going to tackle it over the summer. I seem to be able to live without a HRW, rear wiper and mirror controls for the time being!

                Cheers,
