    Headlight differences.

    Hi all,

I'm in the process of sourcing 'dual optic' headlights (non ellipsoid) for my 80 Avant (as fitted to V6 models etc)

The current H4 bulbs have two filaments, one for dip and one for main.

The new laps have an H4 bulb and an H1 bulb for main. My question is, when on main beam which H4 filament is lit? I would hope the dip one, to light up the road in front of you - but then what is the point of the main beam filament in the H4 bulb?

    Any ideas?

This also relates to if I need to change my stalk or not! Obviously with ellipsoids if you don't change the stalk you'll only have the long range laps lit when using main beam!

    Thanks

    I'm really confused.

H4 are 60/55W. When you are on dip beam you get the 55w.

When you switch over to main beam you get the 60W in the H4 plus the H1 comes on as well

Yes, But the beam patterns are different on H4 only lights. So I guess Audi took this into consideration?

I need someone with the above lights really.

If so I wont need to change my stalk
