Hey Lads, i want to fit the auxillary gauges to my avant tdi and im looking for some info, i have the loom from the back of the gauges to the two plugs, is there a loom behind the dash to plug into these? also what kind of oil pressure sender and temp sender do i need? ill get a picture of what i have shortly, any help would be great, thanks
I dont think your car will have the wiring so will probably be a DIY job. You can find the wiring info here http://www.s2central.net/S2_Schematics/D/D34-07.pdf thanks to Paul. As for the sensors you will need the oil temp sensor, and the oil pressure sensor fitted to your engine. On a 5cyl motor the oil temp is located on the oil pump pressure relief valve, it basically replaces the bolt holding it together with a sensor unit. And the pressure sensor is located on the side of the block. There is also a low oil pressure warning switch, white single wire unit on the side of the block but i would expect your engine to have that one already. You might find more info on Audifans specific to your engine, and sensor fitting.
