Calibrating the Trip Computer

The range on my trip computer is way out. 100 miles @ 1/2 tank & Empty @ 1/4 tank

By following Paul's excellent BTDT guide on S2Central I got the PITA part done tonight, i.e. removing the stubborn cap from the fuel adjust knob which requires surgery on the instrument cluster.

Now all I've got to do is actually calibrate it at the weekend. Everything is working again after boxing it up except I can't push the illumination dimmer knob in for the Autocheck test function

Filled up with petrol tonight & calibrated the trip computer & gauge. I did them seperately. It's actually very easy once that cap is removed.

The Autocheck test function can stay like it is though - I can't be ar$ed to strip that cluster down again!

I'll have to wait & see how accurate it is now so I'll probably run empty in the middle of nowhere
