    S2 Ellipsodial Avant Bulbs

    Hi guys and gals,
I have a 1994, S2 Avant with the ellipsodial lights.
My main beam bulb on the off side has gone, any ideas of what the replacement is? I am being lazy as I cant be bothered to take the old one out to look first!
    Any offers? Or recommendations?
    Cheers,
    Chris

      H1 bulb, choose a brand.

I would recomend HID in the dip beam, didn't think it was suitable for main as I understood they don't like being switched on and off repeatedly.

As Big Lee says get an HID kit, there so much better than any other bulb you can fit. I fitter an HID kit on mine, it cost £50 off ebay, very good quality, so simple to fit, took an hour and as you will probably have to remove the headlights to fit new standard bulbs (unless you have fingers like ET). You won't regret buying an HID kit

You can't fit HID to the Main beam as already stated, HID's cannot be switched on and off.

The dipped beam in the "Lens" can be HID, the main beam in the inner most light is an H1 and will just have to be a high performance incandescant bulb.

            Cheers,

Any upgrades for main beam people use?

Short of a set of driving lights only things I can think of are relaying, good quality bulbs and upping wattage if using off road. I want more light thrown further down the road.
