    Zeitronix Zt-2 wideband

Been meaning to buy one of these a while ago.

I've found this site, not sure if anyone else has used it? http://www.efi-parts.co.uk/index.php?productID=212

I'll be getting the unit so that i can log data and plug my laptop into it.

I think i'm right in saying the lambda sensor that comes with it will just replace the OEM one in the downpipe, i can use the boost pressure line going into the ECU, and splice the rpm from the instrument cluster into it, then just use the following for egt.

I use ZT2 - great bit of kit. You can use it with winlog too after a little config. Let me know if you need any help.

Could you confirm that http://www.efi-parts.co.uk/index.php?productID=212 + http://www.efi-parts.co.uk/index.php?productID=174 is what i'll need to order, or is there anything else?

I would just add the egt probe direct into zt2 for an easy life.

Don't forget that zt2 provides emulated NB O2 signal to keep the ecu happy.

I can get you a pinout if you wish... It's also useful to monitor MAF voltage - even if the 5v range isn't perfect.

The shopping list is ok but I would add their afr display too so that you have good info everyday without the pc plugged in.

So just using the egt probe in the shopping list, directly into zt2?

Is this as an output from the zt2 unit, or from the sensor on a different frequency or something? i.e do i need to run the NB o2 from zt2 to the ecu?

Yes a long as egt probe is type K thermocouple you are good. The ZT2 ships with it's own tiny egt connector plug you will have to wire up.

Yes the simulated NB output comes from Zt2 to Ecu via a feedback wire that you just hookup in the engine bay.

Am i right in thinking that the best place for the egt probe is in the exhaust manifold, but if i dont fancy tapping my wagner EM i can put it after the hotside in the dp?

Yes and if you're welding a bung for the EGT into the DP why not keep narrow band O2 and weld a bung for wideband O2 as well

Thanks, sounds like a good idea if the OEM NB O2 is considered a better source than the zt2 emulated O2.

Well this is what Doug at MRC suggested.

Zeitronix also do a boost sensor for the ZT-2 which then show's current or peak boost.

The egt probe can be fitted on the stock EM sniffer port.

I also have the ZT boost sensor - it is expensive but works very well - it is nice to see that on the logs as you get a very good view of what is happening.

Oh just noticed it's a Wagner em so no sniffer port. If welding on bungs then I agree with above to keep NB probe doing it's own thing and add two new bungs but not the egt probe threads are not same as lambda probe.
