    Cruise Control Debug/Troubleshoot

So I now have the Cruise Control plumbed in, but it doesn't seem to be working...
What's the best way to debug?

I have checked that the vacuum tubes are not leaking.
I think it must be an electrical fault.

Can anyone tell me what all the signals going into the control unit are, and what behaviour I should be seeing on them?

Is there any way of getting the pump to pump just to make sure it's working?

    Thanks!!

I'm afraid I am not a technical wizard so can't help with the specifics you ask, but.....
I have had issues with my own cruise control, although it is easier for me as I know it worked before. Each time it has been the adjustment of the switches at the pedals. They are quite sensitive to placement, so I would ensure they are not causing the issue before digging deeper....
    Hope it helps...!

Have you read my recent thread about this? How have you assured that the hoses are ok? Have you checked that it's airtight from pump to throttle and from pump to pedal?

You can run the pump with a small 9V battery. Remove the connector and the pin closest to the throttle is earth, top one is pump and the one closest to fender (LHD car) is the valve. Put power to the pin for the valve and the motor and it should move the throttle lever. Release power for pump and keep power on valve and it should keep the pressure and throttle in position.

This is how I troubleshot mine and came to the conclusion that the valve down at the brake pedal was broken. I did a cleanup and repair of it.

      Cheers

I know that the diaphragm and pedal switches hold their vacuum.
I don't know if the pump or valve do their stuff.
I also don't know if the control unit works, or if I successfully connected the 3 flying wires...
NEO, do you have pin numbers for ground, pump, and valve?
It would be really useful to know what the signals going into the control unit are, and what they should do...

I dont have any pin numbers. I just played with it until I found the correct combo. As I said I used a small 9V battery and a bit of cable, easy operation.

Success! Looks like a fiddle with the cables has fixed it.
            Thanks for your help.
