Cigarette lighter and radio stopes working?

I went to awesomefest over the weekend and the voltage regulator died on Saturday afternoon, so the AA came out and luckily they had one left of the old stock in the van and fit it. All fixed but I got in the car to come home on Sunday and the stereo doesn't work neither does the cigarette light??? I've done a few searches and came up with pretty much nothing? Wether it's cause I'm on the iPhone and the search function is different, I don't know?

Any help would be great as I hate not having my music.

    Cheers in advance Lee

I hate to state the obvious dude but have you checked the fuses? I would assume so. If the radio is not coming on at all try pulling out the headunit and check the back of the unit. Usually there is a fuse in it that can go. Also if there is a fuse in the wiring for it like in some Alpine units check that one too.

If that is not the case try a spare head unit to see if another one works. Im afraid I cant help with the cigarette lighter problem though.

I assume in that case you still have the avant. Good luck!

I've changed the fuse #4 with a new one and it instantly blows as soon as it touches the blades?

Fuse 4 also protects interior lights, the clock module in the cluster and finally the luggage light in the boot.

unplug stuff until the fuse stops blowing... then you know what component is shorting it out (or more likely a cable to it along the way)

forgot to mention it also provides permanent 12V for memory in the autocheck module.... this is an internal connection via the clock module which comes to the cluster on the yellow 26 pin plug... so unplug that too if nothing else locates the short
