    Aan harness into 3B

Im going to begin to modify my 3B, in order to fix and upgrade as much as I can.

As the original harness was a complete mess, was cutted and bad-fixed in the past, I bought an AAN harness (in a superb condition)a few years ago just to have it as replacement. Now that I´m going to upgrade to AAN inlet manifold, I think is a good oportunity to go multicoil way- I have lots of aan stuff.

Yesterday I was trying to label al the wires (following Aby guide) and I realized they were different, not so much in the engine bay, but in the fusebox and the inside dash.

Before looking Paul schematics, do someone has already done it? I searched all around the forum, and there´s no specific information for 3B, just info for typ85.

I will post pictures and progress in a few hours, usefull to make a complete guide for future members!

Any kind of information or help would be usefull!

    Thanks in advance!

Mostly people just modify the 3B harness for the multicoil setup... that is why there is little experience.
Of course if as you said your harness in is bad condition, doing what you are going to do is the right way... good luck.

      Thanks PRJ for answering.
As you say, thats the main reason, and also to use this harness if it is possible.

Im going to begin with pics, to see if it is possible.

First of all, a general view of the harness:

to convert AAN harness means wiring in 5 wires onto constant/switched live and several earths. Piece of pi55

Just a thought: would it be easier to change the complete fusebox to an AAN one?

when i put AAN harness in A4 i wired in 3 or 4 live and 5 or 6 earths only.

rev counter/tacho was only other extra wire i have used

i use HKS 60mm gauges for Oil pressure and temp, water temp, exhaust gas temp and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST

i can dig out my simplified wiring if you want?

the lives were BLACK and BLUE and are thicker than all others.

i also wire in 1X 12v relay from ignition to ECU live wiring, very easy i post drawings if you want to.
