Just wondering if anyone had gone down the route of converting their old headlights to Xenons? The diifference between Xenons on cars I've driven and the stock lights on the RS2 is huge.
An ideas on cost/complexity of job would be appreciated.
I think i have seen somewhere where they took the lamps off an A6 and installed them in the rs2 headlamps. Obviously the long lights could not be done.
I have to say the RS2 lights are not that different, but i agree there is an improvement when you use a xenon oriented lamp.
i have only used an aftermarket set of H1 xenons on mine and it is a very good and easy upgrade than having to remove and replace the inner lamp of the headlight alltogether
I trust you mean HID or Gas discharge? Conversions for all bulbs are available in 35 watt and 55 watt and all colour temperature ranges from 2,200k to 11,000k. The Original Equipment (OEM) use about 4,300k which is close to daylight. Don't be fooled by the higher the number the whiter the light, do your research carefully. I use HID bulb conversion kits at 4,300k in headlights and main beam in my morette headlights and 5,000k in my PIAA lamp pod. All are 55 watt version. Remember to find room for the ballast packs for HID kits.
Aye, HID conversion using H1 bulbs in the dipped beam only is the way forwards. Get some genuine white bulbs for the main beam, should you want them to match up in colour and also some LED sidelights but not the stupid blue ones. HTH
