    aby loom connection bracket thing

Can somebody post a picture of where all the ABY loom plugs attach to on the scuttle panel or even better a picture without the connectors on it.
Im going to tidy up my typ85 swap and want to make up a similar bracket for all the plugs.
Also is that bracket part of the shell or is it detachable?

    Cheers

You mean something like this (below)? While I think that the rack should be a separate part, I looked through all the body and electrical diagrams twice and I could I could not find the rack. (Doesn't mean that it isn't a separate part). It is not body coloured but rather cadmium coated metal so you should be able to find one at breakers (or from somebody here). I did find the POS bracket PN.

The POS bracket is the right part for an S2/RS2, all one piece.

Apparently for a RHD model. Is this also true for a LHD model? I would be surprised.

Here's a shot of the aux harness bracket and pos bracket on a LHD.

Thanks Tom. So it appears that the *EDIT POS* bracket is the same, LHD and RHD. With that in mind I asked Kate to check under RS2 ignition and the POS bracket. Sure enough she says that the PN for *EDIT POS* bracket is 8A0971845P which is unique to the RS2 and the A80Q and ACOQ with the ABY.

Now if I could only get here to find the PN for the C4 UrS firewall connector rack (all she could find last night was the POS bracket - which is separate in the C4).

Engine Harness Diagram. Duh. Double Duh.

I should have seen that. I *know* that diagram. Have even noticed the bracket before.

                    I am so embarrassed.

Anyway, thanks mcandmar. One for you.

Not trying to dispute that. However, my friend Kate shows two brackets. One for the POSs and one for what appears to be the harness connectors for the knock sensors, etc. Is the second one bolted to the first (POS) one?

                      POS bracket:

                      The other bracket (item 54):

That second item looks like the bracket that sits next to the coil on a 7A/3B.

Maybe, but it came off 971-52 for the RS2. (but it does cross all the way back to a 1989 7A or NM)

As shown the bracket is 8A0 971 845 P, and is about £15 from the Stealer. They don't seem to be available 2nd hand, as I tried to get one ages ago.

In the end I made my own, which fits perfectly in my engine bay. It also holds the FPR, as you can see.
