How much fuel in the tank?

My trip computer says I have run our of miles long before the petrol light comes on...
Is there any way I can re-callibrate the trip computer's fuel meter?

Bowlerwell I have the very same problem, and have done for the last 3 years. I tried changing the fuel gauge sender unit in the fuel tank but that didn't make much difference, thankfully that only cost me £25!!

My OBC always says I am out of fuel and the manual fuel gauage isn't even showing red. Once I ran it until it had 1 litre left in it (I put 62.5 litres in at the pump), which is clearly not a great idea but I had to know how far out the OBC was.

Generally the OBC will tell me I'm out of fuel when I have between 7-10 litres remaining in the tank so I then have a good idea how far I have before I need to stop. Annoying though it is you can outfox it in time.

Eventually I will follow the instructions that the other poster linked to but that looks far too technical for a Friday morning

Keep me posted on whether this works or not.

        It certainly does work..........

If you just want to set up the miles to go, you can ignore what Paul@S2Central has written in part one - the complex part - and move straight to part two.

With the adjustment pot unclipped from the back of the instrument cluster you can adjust it to read what you like. So, you can go through the adjustment proceedure Paul describes in part three or you wait until your fuel level in the tank is at a point where you know there's say 100 miles left and at that point adjust the pot so the miles to go reads "100". Afterwards just move the pot so it can't get moved but don't clip it back and then move it by accident!

i sort of have the same problem but mine seems to be a tad intermittent - showing nothing on the miles to go screen at all half the time and the rest of the time the tank is reading "E" when half full. Will have to have a look as it is doing my swede in
