    Radiator fan - questions

    Hi,

Does anyone have a pin out on what 1-2-3 pin out configuration is on a S2 coupe?
I had to cut the wires to solder longer ones, because the old one was giving me some problems. I used a fan from Audi 90quattro instead, and I would like to test this fan before I mount it on the car. So after a wild guess one of them must be + and - , but what does the last wire do?

There are two +ve wires and one ground, ground being the brown one. The oher two are high and low speed fed from their appropriate relays. Have a look on the lid of your fuse box, figure out which is which and you can do a continuity test from the coresponding 87 pin on each relay to figure out which is which if you dont have any schematics. There are plenty over at www.s2central.net

I wouldnt rely on wire colours alone though, i discovered my cq20v rad fan wiring was completely different to whats in the book yesterday.

Thanks! I was going to connect the fan to a power supply to check and see if it's OK before i mounted it, I will check and see.
