    What connectors? Close to ECU

    Hi,
I opened up the passenger footwell on my RHD auto S6 to check for a tick nest and had a peek at my ECU .and TCU.

Found some loose connectors. The small yellow one and a black one. Anybody know what these are for? See pic

Could not immediately see any place for them to plug in.

      Chris,

Wait for urS4 boy to see this thread.

Could be that these are not used in the spec of the car you have ?

      Kind regards.

I see. Will be more patient.

It could be that these connectors are not used. No idea.

Sorry Chris. (LOL David). I missed this post when you first put it up, just saw it now.

As for the answer, I *think* it is a diagnostics plug of some purpose. Not sure what. If you want me to push further, I need to know the colours of the wires and their positions in the plug, e.g. T6/1 = grey/red, etc.

Mystery Plug solved = Speed limiter

Chris: No need. I didn't think that the "Euro" cars got the speed limiter that we got in North America (the NAmerican C4 UrS4s and UrS6s were limited by the factory to 130 mph (209 kph) in case somebody put "H" speed-rated tires on). The plug you show might have had another red plug (a jumper) attached to it, as shown below. It is possible that the UrS6s that went to Thailand might also originally have come with the red jumper/limiter plug, especially based on they were automatics and maybe because of import requirements. (??) Either that ALL AAN harnesses had that speed limiter plug and only the NAmerican cars got the red jumper plug.

Here is the plug with the red jumper attached (LHD ECU area)

Here it is with the red jumper plug removed. Look familiar??

Yep, that looks familiar. Thanks! Appreciate it.
If that is the speed limiter, then it is off for sure. I have hit 240kmh on the speedo.
