    Vems communication issue

I'm having a problem where vems tune will freeze shortly after start up of the car. I'll open vemstune and having it open and connected with the key in the "on" position, it shows temps, shows throttle postion and everything works fine. When i start cranking the car on, it usually freezes right then, or with freeze shortly there after. Now I recently swapped engines but this issue was happening a few months before my old engine bit the dust, I was unable to pull logs or anything. I have dried different laptops without success.

one notable occasion, was while the car was running i tried to open my laptop and start up vems tune, it resulted in corruption of my tune and left me on the side of the road. since that date i have been unable to log, did something get burned up?

Try turning all aim functions off
What baud are you running? And are you using the latest vemstune
The last point is the most critical

don't know about the corruption of the tune part but I had exactly the same symptoms with mine freezing. Connect with ignition on fine, then as soon as you start the engine it would freeze. Turned out to be a bad usb lead not quite sure how it produced those symptoms. A new lead solved it. Got a lead from somewhere jamo suggested a while back - names left me just now. FTDI-R chipset snazzy white lead with blue leds

upgraded to the new vems tune, wow it looks sooo much nicer and it looks like there have been many changes/updates.

still no difference other then it pops up a message saying "device disconnected"

i'll attach the log if anyone cares to see. remove ".txt"

I take you don't have an LCD?

In the Outputs / Display Settings disable all the LCD code and disable the setting enable AIM

In preferences in the communications settings set Enable AIM mode to no

                        Set Timeout to 200
Ignore realtime error count to 3
                        Inter Write Delay 30

Depedning on your usb cable I set preferred baudrate to 115200 and upload baudrate to 19200
