audi a6 c4 tdi multi function display( mpg, av mpg etc)

I changed the clocks on my a6 and I have found that the mpg, av mpg is way out compared to the original clocks. The replacement clocks are from the same model only difference is it was automatic and my car is manual.

    Would this.make any difference?

There are dip switches to select the number cylinders, diesel, etc. Did you set them properly?

AFAIK A6 clocks don't have the dip switched anymore, you have to use vag-vom to reprogram the correction value.

              Oh yea, could be.
I'm sorry, it's been a long time since I've done any of that.

Attached a few pics of S4 vs S6 cluster, i dont see any switches on the S6 unit, since the odometer is electronic there must be a VDO cable that can set them up.

S4 is the brown one with the daughter board on top for the computer.

I have just been looking at an AEL version from a manual and can't find anything on that either.I was always lead to believe you could do it.

Anyone got the info how to do it via vcds?

In VCDS you can go to adaptation, and adjust it there I think.
Browse the adaptation channels, one of them should be for consumption.
