Airbag lamp is on and using VEMS

Hi

Had a problem a year ago when charging the carbattery from the engine bay, used a start booster and the car started. Sadly there was a electric spike that took out the airbag unit, checked with Audi here in Sweden and they said is was a faulty airbag unit. Bought a used unit from a car that hasent been crashed and changed it today. The only thing i did was to disconnect the battery and changed the unit. But when i reconnect the battery the light is still on

Do i need to resest some fault codes or what to do?

And another thing, meanwhile I had a faulty airbag unit I changed the motronic ecu with VEMS, are these 2 separate systems so I can reset the fault codes I have on the airbag unit or is it not possible now when I´m using the VEMS?

Went to the stealer today and for ~25£ he checked it out with his computer and found 2 fault code with the new airbag unit, reseted them and now it works ! seems like the old unit was fried and the new "old" box just had some fault code in them. Now it´s working

I managed to get rid of the airbag warning light this weekend using the freeware version of VCDS-Lite 1.0

Tried that first Tom, but that didnt work but it feels great to have it all cleared out...

Didn´t work for me Worked as a charm in 1-2 days, but now the airbag light is lit for 2 minutes and then it goes out... hmm what to do?
