  • Rev counter dosent run smooth...

Not my day today... first I got some mouse squeek in my new stainless exhaust, then the missys failed to unsnap the seatbelt so it trashed one of my carbon panels and on the way home I saw that my rev counter didn´t ran smooth anymore... it hacks when rising from low rev to high rev

The first problem i hope it just a loose exhaust clamp and for the other its just a change...

But what´s wrong with the rev counter? tachometer cluster change or revcounter sensor change or maybe a cleanup ? where is it?

    Any help would be nice

Sometimes the paint on the dials peels of and stops the needles from moving smoothly. That would be the first thing to check, see if there is any cracked paint showing on that dial..

take your clocks out and look at the back of the needle in the center the small flake can do it

or bad earth (ground) conection...att the battery or by the wire to the generator...

Hmm, had my generator changed a week ago... maybe the problems lies there... didn´t do this myself but nothing you really can´t fail to do right...

Got good ground to the battery as I build in a high end audio system so haven´t spared anything there...

But gonna check both things... thanks !

changed my generator as the interior lighting was flashing and the stream of power was uneven and sometimes the generator failed to charge. But the rev counter problem I only saw when cruising in high gear and full trottle fith gear and sixt gear between 3500-5000 rpm (140-200 km/h) the rev counter paused every 200 rpm for a millisecond. Never saw this problem outerwise. Tried to force this problem by slowly reving thru lower gears but didn´t see it. Maybe it´s not a problem or it is... seems odd to see it in high speed and suchs. The speed counter dosen´t do this. hmm...

you does have a ground in the generator( in the regulator; the small feder) and the bad conecting to the starter.. and the yellov wire to the generator...

Caterpillar, can you please explain that one more time... (just to clarify that Ive already changed my generator for a new Hella , and the charging problem and light flicker went away...)

in the genrator( regulator) you does have the ground feder... if you dont have the correct conection, the rev counter may go mad; or the yelllow wire to battey are really bad; the ground goes thrue the rev counter, or via the dash, some hove...
