My MFA was flickering a few days ago, but not it has gone blank. Additionally, the Check box display at the top centre of the dash yesterday suddenly showed a huge rectangular box with a + and - symbol at each respective end of the display of the "battery", and the volt meter in the centre console went off the scale of the clock at 16v plus. This lasted for a about a minute. Also the radio has been turning off for a short period when it is turned on. It happened about four times yesterday, but didn't happen on the three short journeys this morning.
There has been no electrical work done on the car for months and months. The only thing to mention, but I don't think it is connected, but the radio may be electrically draining the battery if the car is standing unused over a weekend, once it is driven everyday it is not an issue.
Is the main issue above with the display and the sudden voltage spike a dry solder joint or a faulty voltage regulator, or maybe a duff battery ?
Any advices would be welcome.
Thanks.
