Central Locking Issue - Door locks itself when opened.

I'm hoping somebody can shed some light on the problem I am having with the central locking.

The car in question is S2 Coupe with central locking with a clifford alarm/immobiliser fitted.

    The problem is:

-I unlock the car the fob and everything opens up. You can open the passenger door no problems

-I can open the drivers door but when I do so, the locking system locks the car and the locks go down.

-I have to then lock the car with the fob and unlock again before starting otherwise the alarm goes off when I start the car.

Does anybody have any idea's what is causing this or how I can fix it?!

    TIA

Try with the door open, gripping and pushing and pulling the rubber boot that goes from the door into the body of the car. I bet you have a dodgy wire in there somewhere causing it to do this.

I had the same issue with my wires in the boot. When opened up the rubber casings had split and were shorting out causing it to lock and unlock when going over bumps and opening or closing the tailgate resulting in the keys being locked in the car whilst it was running on one very annoying occasion.

Simple solution is to cut the wires and resolder the connections and put on the heat shrink to cover.

      alarm / central locking

This has happened twice to me - simple solution was pull the bonnet, lock the car, and the pull the fuse - 3rd one from the right in the fuse box - think it's no 19, but don;t hold me to that one. Alarm resets, and simply push fuse back in - works fine for about 6 months, then goes wonky again, repeat proceduce and all works 100% - hope this may help !!

Take it to a Clifford Alarm dealer and have then check the options it has turned on. When I bought my S2 the Clifford alarm was really annoying. Bleeping loudly when locked/unlocked doors automatically locking themselves, car going into valet mode and proximity sensor going off all time. £25 spent and it now behaves as I want it to.
That said it does sound like yours has a possible wiring prob.
Apparently you can buy the clifford programme and lead and do it yourself. Worth considering.

On my old V8 with a Clifford you could change all the setting from the key fob,
it had 5 buttons and although you needed the manual at hand you could turn off auto lock, set proximity, sensitivity etc etc etc.

I'm sure as is mentioned above the this is a wiring glitch and the Clifford thinks you have got in and closed the door and with the auto lock option enabled it locks the doors.

I must have changed the settings on my alarm 5 times using the key fob, and it would always, after a few days do what the hell it liked again. Once options altered on laptop it has been great since. I'll regret saying this now and it will be having a wobbly in morning.
I would certainly second checking the wiring in the boot though.

                Maybe water ingress somewhere
Happened on my discovery where it leaked it ran into wiring and kept locking unlocking
Sealed leak and cleaned wires, cured
