Hello, think I might need some continental forum help...
Wife and I are on the way to. Rostock in northern Germany for two weeks holiday. We're travelling. On the ferry from Harwich to Hook of Holland and then over to Rostock.
All was well until I saw the voltage gauge reading 12v and then 10v. The dash red alternator lamp was showing slightly. Having just had my alternator reconditioned I'm not impressed. I can only think the new one is also on the way out.
Are there any forum members in Holland, northern Germany, Rostock that have an alternator to hand? Just thinking about what to do if this dies completely.
I've checked the terminals and all seems to be ok. What could be wrong? Is there anything I can can check on the alternator itself apart from the terminals. Why would the output fluctuate so much?
Any advice or help most welcome. As things stand, we're going to try and get to Rostock in daylight. t
