sun roof and clock electrics. what is it with old audi!!

two questions in one thread really. anyone offer an answer?

first. my clock keeps re setting itself and any time it feels like it. it seems to link to the adjustment knob. sometimes i can touch the adjustment button and the numbers fade out and come back

second. my Sun roof is going wibble again. it opens great but sometimes i press the buttons to close or tilt and nowt. its like the motor doesn't know where it is so does nothing.
does it sound like the micro switches or the rocker button?

The connections to the clock module inside the instrument display have got corrosion on them. Take the instrument binnacle apart and lubricate the long electrical contact pins that link the clock module with the motherboard with electrical contact cleaner.

Not so sure on this one but do check the thermal fuse isn't the problem and now you've got some contact cleaner, use it on the rocker button

cheers for the reply. i did the thermal fuse/relay and main relay only couple of months ago. my next step was contact cleaner on switch etc. we shall see.
